Kibble

Mommy told me today the she got The Whole Dog Jornal for this month in the mail. She said this is the one she has been waiting for. Something about approving dog foods. That lead me to think that I should talk about food. I am going to tell you what you want to eat. Lets start off first with what you don't want to eat.

These are things you don't want to see on your ingredientd label;

Meat and poultry by-products
If your food has by-products in it, you aren't getting the best stuff. You want to eat real meat, not feet and beaks.

Added Sweeteners
I know sweet stuff sounds good, and it tastes good too. That is how they coax you into eating nasty food, by adding sweetener.

Artificial Preservatives
BHA, BHT, and Ethoxyquin are ones you want to look out for. Some of these are toxic and used in pesticides.

Artifical colors
I don't care what color my food is as long as it tastes good. Don't put anything in my food that doesn't have to be there.

Corn
It is really hard for us to digest. It's better if there is rice or potatoes instead of corn.

Now that we have gone over what you don't want, let's get to the good stuff.

What you want to see on your ingredientd label;

Meat
It is great to see meat at the top of your food list. Real meat, no by-products. If the first ingredient is a protien meal, even better. This means it was weighed after the water was removed. That means more meat in my food.

Whole vegetables, fruits, and grains.
This stuff tastes good and is good for you. Eat your fruits and veggies.

Organic
This means they didn't use any chemichals on the food ever. Organic is great.

Next lets name a few great brands you should try.

Taste of the Wild
Solid Gold
Wellness
Innova
Nature's Variety

These are just a few great foods, but hopefully it gives you a place to start if you want to switch kibble. I have eaten each of the brands above and can say they are all delicious. I hope you enjoy your dinner tonight, I know I will.

Look at me, I'm 3

Guess what... I turned 3 last week. It was awesome. I got new toys and mommy made me birfday pupcakes again. Aunt Jess got me a doughnut toy for at home and an octopus. Mommy let me go to PetSmart and pick out my own toys. I decided to get a frog that makes crazy noises and a snowman. I like all of my new toys, but not as much as I like my jolly ball or the turtle mommy got me for Christmas. Daddy said we are running out of room in the toy box and that I don't need anymore toys. My solution to that is to get a bigger toy box. Of course I need more toys.

It is just Layla, Chi Chi and I now. Harley and I couldn't get along, so he has a new family. Mommy said he has kids and cats now. That sounds like a lot of fun to me. She talks to Harley's new mommy on the computer a bunch to keep tabs on him. Layla and don't fight like Harley and I did, so I guess it's a good thing.

The daycare just celebrated its first year in business. Mommy and Aunt Jess were pretty excited about it. I will post some pictures to show you how awesome daycare really is. I am off to nap now.

It's Spring

I am so happy that spring is here! Mommy and Daddy took Layla and I for a walk to the park yesterday. It was so fun to be outside. There were all kinds of new smells that I didn't remember from last year. I wanted to go to the dog park but mom said I couldn't go beacause I would be too tired for daycare. I am not tired at all today. I think she should have let me go to the dog park. As much as I love daycare I want to go to the dog park too. I haven't seen Kobe, Harley, Rubi, Houston, Derringer, Ruger, Bhutan, Potato, or Sampras in a really long time. I really, really, really miss Bhutan. He was like a brother to me. I actually like him more than my brother, but that is a whole other story. Harley and I haven't been getting along so well lately. I am going to leave it at that though. I want to focus on spring. When spring comes that means summer is not far away. I am ready to go to the lake so I can boat and swim on the weekends. Here's to April Showers and May flowers. The next two months better go by quick because I am ready fo June! Time to go play with Riley. See you later

My 2nd Birfday Party

I just turned 2 yesterday. My mommy and Aunt Jess threw a party for me at the daycare on Saturday. The nice lady from 4 Paws Pet Bakery made me two cakes and some pizza. I went in with mommy to pick up the pizza and cake. While I was there I got a treat for birfday from the lady at the bakery.

When we got back to the daycare there were some doggies that I didn't know that came in to see us. Then some dogs from the dog park came in to celebrate with me. My cousins Rocky and Elsie came in too. Both grandmas and one of my grandpas came in too. My daddy was at work, so he didn't get to come. Uncle Justin was there though. Over all it was a great birfday party!

Here is my peanut butter cake. We also had a chocolate cake. Mommy said it was carob, but it tasted like chocolate to me.

The Daycare is Open

The daycare is open and now I get to go to work with mommy every day. Harley, Layla, and ChiChi get to come too. The first couple days have been so much fun. I finally got to play with all of the toys that mommy wouldn't let me play with. There are so many balls to play with I don't know which one to choose. Riley, Snookie, and Butters have been there every day too. I have been super tired when I get home every day. I feel like I am working a job. Mommy makes us leave the house while it is still dark outside and we don't get home till after it is dark. Talk about a long day. I am not trying to complain, I love daycare, but it is very exhausting. It will be nice to sleep in this weekend. I am off to play now.

Toys, Toys, Toys

Today the guy in the big brown truck stopped at our house again. He dropped of two big boxes. When mommy finally got home and brought them in they were full of toys! I thought it was Christmas come early. Then mommy told me I couldn't play with any of them. What! All of these toys and I can't play with any of them. That is so not fair. Mommy said they are for the daycare and I can play with them there. Now I have to wait three weeks before I can play with any of them. Oh this is so hard.

I'm Back

It has been a very long time since I have posted a blog. Sorry to all of my loyal readers. I have been so busy helping mommy get ready for the daycare to open. I am not really sure with this daycare is, but mommy says I will like it. She says I will get to go to work with her everyday and play with other dogs all day. That sounds like a fun time to me. She sid that my first day of daycare will be December 3rd. She said Harley, Layla, and ChiChi get to come too. I have to wait a whole month to find out what this daycare really is.
